That was an intelligent and interesting question. I too opt for the latter.
I suspect that true Christians would not get pissed off with those of us who do not believe their religious claptrap. The ones that do get pissed off are plain stupid.
It seems to me that a more worthy subject for Christians to get pissed off with is the poverty and injustice in the world.

I even have an extremely comparable reaction as you do. whilst somebody who does not understand i'm a non-believer says "i will pray for you" i'm fairly comfortable with it yet I do tell them approximately the place I stand once I thank them for thinking of me. in the event that they do understand i'm a non-believer i'm getting snarky and actually tell them to maintain their crap of their very own pile.

Once they get to level 3 on the points scale of religiousness they are able pray for you just by clicking a little button with their mouse.

I think it is just something that they say. Some of them mean it, but I think many are hypocritical and only say it to be seen as a good and righteous christians. I can't help thinking that like so many other things in the world, it is more about keeping up appearances.

Some actually will, but under the circumstances you mentioned, it's usually said to get the last work in.
And I say this as a Christian who's had that told to me quite a few times. Master Yoda has the right idea.

They probably do pray. I'm not in the habit of pissing people off because of their religion, but I do get pissed off when someone says 'I'll pray for you', or 'I know you can help me with God at your side.'

As far as I know, they do pray.
I usually don't announce when I'm praying for someone who might dislike the idea, simply because I know it can be annoying. It would be nice for people to be more sensitive with their disagreeing fellows, and that applies as much to the atheists and to the faithful.

No, I believe that if they are truly religious they will in fact pray for each individual.

I assume there are some who do and some who don't. Either way they should realise how offensive it is. It basically means "There's something wrong with you, I'll see if I can get God to fix it". Exactly the same as if I were to go around saying to theists "I hope you get the psychological help you obviously need." Of course that wouldn't be politically correct.

prayer is a communication with God and i dont think there is anything wrong if you pray for someone. i mean you can invoke peace and blessings of God on anyone. prayers are not to be restricted to some and not for others. also when one prays for others, then God blesses both.
have a nice day and peace and blessings of God be with you.
