We will no longer need her services after Christmas and would like to show our appreciation. She is well off and does not "need" anything. She is a Christian and pretty straight laced, so I want something meaningful and appropriate.

How about a gift certificate to the local Christian store??? Maybe a smal gift from the store if you want something more personal.

As a daycare centre employee, I can tell you that the best gifts we ever get from parents are in the form of equipment donations! Some books, some toys ... it doesn't have to be expensive, but they're always appreciated. The children will benefit immensely from having new materials in the rotation. Of course, be sure to include a lovely thank-you note, with maybe a drawing or something from your child. You didn't say how old your child is, so a drawing/note/etc I'm sure would be appreciated.

Best Regards,
Holly

A bible, or prayer book sounds good. A donation in her name to Christian Children's Fund is another idea.

Or depending on how old your child is, make her a rosary, and have your priest bless it.

If she wears any jewelery, you can get a nice pair of earings that are crosses, or a cross on a chain from Wal-Mart (Canada/US) or from Miejer's (US) for a very reasonable price, and ask your priest, or minister to bless it.

If money is an issue, you can create an Advent Candle holder with 5 small candle holders, a serving plate, and a glue gun. You can get all that at any dollar store, plus the candles.

That is so considerate of you! Well, get her anything nice and that she can use! Like a nice jewellery box that plays a music when it is opened.

But something hand-made and "cheap" can equally move her heart! Try getting soap "gel" from Spotlight (#4 Plaza Singapura) that both you and your child can make. Or create a small family scrap book for her as a keepsake. Handmade stuff requires time and material though...but sometimes it's the thought that counts.

Somehow I don't like the idea of letting shops profit from sale of bibles (to me, bibles should be FREE just as Jesus preached not for self-benefit!)

By the way, I run a day care too but it isn't for kids! :) heh heh

A beautiful picture frame - 5x7 - would be nice. You can get in engraved too. Something like "To a loving woman" etc.

Have your child make her a thank you card, or go to Kinko's and make her a calendar. Take pictures of the home and they other people in it and make it into a calendar.

WHOA! hold up....want somethin really from the heart?......ask someone she knows. i dont know what her hobbies are, if she collects anything...trust me a gift can cost one or fifty dollars- its how much thought went into it that keep a person using or treasuring it, right? :)
