The other party knew the drunkard was an alcoholic and we are talking two an a half bottles of wine to one 125 lb 5' 7" woman. The other party offered the alcohol. The other party says he wanted to marry the girl and have her babies. If he was that serious wouldn't he have helped her through sobriety? Also, the drunk girl got help through AA, counseling and anti-depressants immediately and apologized profusely. But when she was drunk she was nuts, she said mean things, tried to attack him physically, and then was verbally degrading herself. So, the one drunken episode was really, really, really bad, it couldn't have been too much worse.

I was the drunk girl. And yes, I am very intelligent, I teach college and I am a single mothe and independent woman. I screwed up, royally, and no I don't normally drink-- this is why. I am not a good drunk, I am the worst kind of drunk. Does that help?

You sound like you are an intelligent person. Why are you mixed up and involved with such idiots?

That is a very case sensitive subject since alcoholics can say they want to change and go through the motions of getting help and then relapse and throw all of their AA and other things right down the drain. But if it only happened once and she usually doesn't drink and didn't really want to then they need to sit down and honest and seriously talk about their future.

make it clear how bad that experiance was and that you want the person but cant deal with the drunk version. if they are willing to cut down on the drinking and make sure they dont get that drunk again dont dump them but make it clear that that sort of behavior will not be a part of your life.
