why do soooo many ppl get on this site bashing one another? I'm personally a Christian. I don't downgrade others bc they don't believe the same as i do. i don't personally understand why so many ppl come onto this section on the site and bash each other. isn't this where you should try to convince others that your religion is the right one? THIS GOES FOR CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, ATHEIST A OR WHATEVER RELIGION YOU MAY BELONG TO. God says not to judge but to love everyone. Stop showing so much hatred some of the "Christians" on this site don't show it very well. I think we all should just sit back and look at ourselves before we start bashing on other ppl's beliefs, even if we don't agree with them
Who else agrees with me?

i'm not trying to say that i've never come across rude, but reading some of the responses on here has really shocked me.
i was riased up in church to lift others up. not mock them and ridicule them. others may be wrong in your eyes, but you should set an example instead of making them mad, that's never going to work

and to my defense of what "onthefence" had to say, yes it is a sin, i wasn't saved until after i got pregnant, i realized what kind of life i was leading and i wanted to change, so don't judge me till you know the whole story

For some people, it's the only way they know how to argue. I can't say that I'm the most intelligent speaker, honestly, but I think I and and some other Christians bring forth defenses of the Gospel in ways that aren't offensive (or at least not slanderous)....I hope I don't offend people, at least.
And once one person bashes Christians, or one person calls muslims an idiot, or one person does anything to offend another person...it seems as though noone can forgive, everyone has to retaliate (including myself).
I think we all need a remind (such as the one you just posted) every once in a while. Thanks.

the words above are your own...and it is just by doing what you say above that is causing the problem.....if you try to convince others that your religion is the right one...as you say and as many are doing...someone always gets offended or angry and bashes the one who is trying to convince the other.....and secondly you say we are not to judge but by doing the very thing that you suggest we are to be doing...by showing others ones religion is the right one over anothers ...well that is being taken as being judgmental of all of the others.....so there is no way to share without someone getting offended.....or without someone bashing....and maybe after you have been on here long enough you wont be so judgmental of your fellow Christians.....chill out and just be yourself....that is the best witness on this site..

I totally agree that we can have differences of opinion and still be civil, but as a Christian I honestly believe that if you are not saved you will have an eternity of torment after death, so I can't just sit back and watch someone go through that without trying to do something about it.

How can a person of one cult possibly be respectful to a person of another one? After all, he or she is destined for the fires of hell because they are definitely wrong and their god is naturally, a devil.
If you believe that JC is god, then mohommed must be a heretic and vice versa.
If you respect those of other cults, you must in effect be saying that ALL the dogma is wrong anyway and the only important bit is worshipping a god (no matter which one). In which case, you'll have the zealots from all sides moaning at you.
The only rational approach is to accept that people follow a religion (no matter which one) because they need mental crutches to help them get through life. (ie. social inadequacy).
BtW - your argument about god saying not to judge etc., is strictly a xtian approach. Other gods tell you to judge and kill - so, it becomes difficult not to argue (if you want to survive).

There's a thin line between debating and bashing. Usually, even if something seems rude on here, it's just two sides trying to get their points across to each other. But yeah, sometimes there are those "OMG U R SUCH A STOOPID HEAD!!!!!1111!!!!" But on such an occasion, you just have to laugh at them.

I'm in total agreement with you. It's awful the prejudice and hate that comes on here, I'm sure I've been a bit guilty of it myself, but I'm only in a bad mood because my husband had an affair.....

I really don't believe that I am a basher. I just don't believe in Christianity. I don't care if you do or not. I love people, and do not have to agree with how they believe. I would not harm a soul, except that guy that was picking a fight about leftists...lol...right in the crotch! ;)

I agree whole heartedly! Many are too judgemental, curt, and rude when the whole idea of this site is to peacefully exchange ideas.
