My husband is abroad and I have filed proper papers to have him allowed to return to America with me. I lost everything I owned due to Hurricane Katrina (even my job last year). I have been told because i am a victim of Hurricane Katrina that he will not have to have a financial sponsor because i did not have a job for three months last year and my income from last year was below poverty guidelines. I have been told that i am exempt from getting financial sponsor due to circumstances beyond my control. Please respond if you are an immigration official or am immigration lawyer. I really love my husband and I cant go to live with him there because i have my kids here and in school. I am an American citizen.

I'm not either of the above but I did have this situation with my husband. I didn't make enough to sponsor him by myself but my dad and sister helped me. All together we had enough income to show that we could care for his financial wellness. They only need that to show that your husband and yourself will not be a burden to the state.

""have him allowed to return to America""""?????? from my prospective you like very body else must comply with the prerequisites of rules and regulation governing immigration and sponsorship,, sorry for the situation created by mother nature there are ways to hep yourself get over this hump family members can amend your application and attest that they will contribute financial assistance should there be a need
