It is very hard to tell, even by a doctor.

About the only way to know for sure...is if you actually saw the spider after feeling the pain of the bite!

Sometimes a spider bite can be nothing more than a mosquito bite. Othertimes, it can be a little more red, painful, and itchy.

The dangerous spider bites grow from a red spot to a large red area, are more painful, and somtime the skin erodes away. That's when you need to see a doctor (or if you saw the spider, and it was a very poisonous one).

What you describe sounds harmless and will likely go away on its own...and nobody will ever know for sure whether you were bit by a spider.

Hope this helps!
