I recommend three treatment, but you have to use on daily basis or as recommend on the label. One is proactiv because it works wonders if used properly. Two toothpaste because it dries the pimples up. Three Neutrogena Daily Scrub because it is less expensive and it do a wonderful job.

Wash with soap and water 2 to 3 times daily (i.e., dove, ivory, etc.) depending on how oily your skin is. Put 100 % tea tree oil (very inexpensive) on your pimples, they will clear very quickly. A good exfoliater (formulated for the face) will help with the blackheads. Also, if in your budget, an alpha-hydroxy creme helps keep skin clear. Above all, if you wear make-up invest in pure mineral powder foudation and powder. This regimen has kept my acne prone skin completely clear for years. Isn't costly either.

Are you using an acne product line? which one? how long? Have you had a facial? how old are you? There many factor of why you have more pimples. Dark spots are the pigmentation mark left after a blemish has healed. This should improve in a few months.
Let me know your answers, I could help. I am an esthetician

my best advise before trying any other treatment is avoid oily food, junk food, or oily food prepared with reheated oil which is really bad for health. drink plenty of water a day.
i.e. As soon as you get up from bed 3 to 6 glasses.
At breakfast 3 glasses of water
In between mid day and lunch 3 to 6 glasses
at lunch 2 to 3 glasses
in between lunch and evening 2 to 3 glasses
in between evening and dinner 1 glass
At dinner 2 to 3 glasses
before sleep 2 glasses
total 18 to 20 glasses of water

some products are designed for african american skin and others for lighter skin tones and am not sure which you fall under. try proactive in some places you can buy it in a store instead of having it shipped. loreal has some real nice products also la roche-posay has great products neutrogena has an extensive line for all skin types and iman for african american skin. see which one works best for you. best bet loreal or neutrogena if you are a lighter skinned person/ iman if you're black and try to eat healthy it won't hurt and drink lots of water.

Avoid soaps & chemical based creams/lotions for your face as your skin may be sensitive & could worsen your condition. Instead, go for multani mitti as adviced or for any ayurvedic/natural 'lep' or mixture.
