It really made me sad. This poor girl askes a question and she is attacked by MANY people being called a Murderer and such. I don't feel that abortion should be used as a souce of birth control. Under MOST circumsatances I would never make that choice for myslef, but I still think that EARLY term abortion should still be an avaiable option for women. I am prepared for the haters, but thoughts are welcome.

Okay, I guess my question is....why do people hate on others that make the choice? I feel that if you can't say something nice...then don't say it at all. I bet this poor girl is already going through so much guilt and hardship right now. It's not right to dig the knife more into her heart!

What is the lesser of the three evils...an abortion, a back alley abortion or EVEN MORE full term babies thrown into dumpsters?

Agrees. Abortion is a very drastic and harsh thing to do but I believe that we should have a choice what to do. I probably would never have an abortion if I was put in that situation but I think people should have the freedom to decide what to do for themselves.

Some people just feel way too strongly about these issues. This is a very personal issue, not one that the whole wide world has a right to put their opinion in on this one. I think that some people are overly concerned with other people's lives. We all have a right to our opinions, but no one has the right to shove their opinion down someone else's throat. That's wrong.

There are a few reasons why people like to attack women who have had an abortion or people who are pro-choice. I think these are them:

1) jealousy- they suffer from infertility and think that because they don't have a choice to have a child everyone with a working uterus should be forced to give birth. Basically, "I'm infertile so I have no fertility rights therefore no one should!" It's bunk.

2) closed minded prudes - They think that anyone who has sex must take responsibility and have a baby. They don't care about the children or the women. Babies are a punishment for having sex. They can't think outside their own box and realise that abortion is not easy and is a consequence. They say "if you can spread your legs you should raise a child" and call women "whores" It's crude. People like this can't stand the idea of sex without the intent to pro-create.

3) they only care about babies- These are the people who can't think past the potential of a fetus and look at the women who is suffering this choice. These are the type to scream "murderer"

There are probably a few other reasons but, it all boils down to hatred towards women. Whether it's coming from another women or not it's still mysogynistic. It's raw hatred and they don't even care that they are the reason for the so called post abortion syndrome. It's disgusting. Being anti-choice and so vocal is down right abusive. Report all those posts to yahoo and they'll get deleted.

I agree. I know that I could never have an abortion, but people who ask a question about it should be answered as any other person on here should be, with an educated response. I know that many of you on here are pro-life and believe that abortion is murder, but what's done is done and nothing can be done about it now. The asker was asking a serious question about abortion and it's tramatic enough for her to have made that decision and then she's persecuted for her choice. I know it would have been a beautiful baby that someone would love to adopt, but it is also hard for people to give up a child they carried for 9 months even if it wasn't necessarily wanted at first. I'm pro-choice, but it's more for the fact that I'd rather it be medically regulated than have back alley abortions where we not only lose the baby but we lose the mother who could have brought children into the world later in life. I DON'T believe in abortion as a form of birth control. They need to practice safe sex or not have sex at all. I'm not going to condemn any for their actions, but people should be respectful of all opinions (after all "God" gave humans free will, if you believe that). I personally am more concerned in my life about the rapists, murders, and child sex offenders out there rather than people who chose to have an abortion. And until the government makes abortion illegal again they will continue to happen and there is nothing that can be done about it.

I wont hate on you because people donot realize how we really are lucky to have that choice in this country. In other countries if a girl ( example ) lets say got raped and wasnt married, her family would probably kill her or disown her even though it wasnt her fault.

I have my moments of insanity of course =) but people just dont get it, just think of if a young girl cannot have an abortion and she doesnt want the baby and is talked into keeping it, will she abuse that baby>? or worse?

its all or nothing with some people. I have a friend who is against abortion except for rape and Im like you cant have it both ways, cause then all these girls and women will be saying they were raped you know and thats not right either!
So I just ignore those people who go off the deep end calling people murderers. I wonder if those are the same people sticking up for Susan smith and andrea yates> you know what I mean!

I always felt the way you do until the doctor told me I can't have anymore children after my second pregnancy almost killed me.

My husband and I want more children and it really breaks my heart to know there are babies being labeled "unwanted" just because the birth mother is not prepared to raise them. We are not in a financial position to pay thousands of dollars for the process of adopting a newborn before the cost of raising it begins, but we are always on the lookout for someone like that poor girl who might understand that her child could still have a wonderful life full of love.

I agree that it is a personal choice, i have 6children now and would not change a thing in my life when it comes to them so obviously the obortion factor has never been an issue for myself coz i just strait out didnt agree with it!!! but on that note i never pushed my beliefs on 2 anyone else nor critisized or judged givin every souls sittuation is different, i do agree that if you dont wont children take the proper precautions or you are just a fool with in youself an a innocent life has to suffer as a result.

I am pro choice

In 1972 my best friend had to go to New York for a illegal abortion.. dirty off the alley unsanitary office- paid $500

she died from a perforated infected uterus

I will always feel that if she had been able to have a legal abortion in a clean sanitary medical clinic she would still be alive today

In response to the first answer... I know how it feels to get pregnant when you don't want the baby and be scared. I got raped at 15 by a family member and got pregnant. What a way to lose my virginity, but that's besides the point. I chose not to get an abortion because it's not my son's fault that he was conceived. My views are that you are responsible enough to spread your legs and have sex without a condom, then you should be responsible enough to take care of the baby that is a result of pure stupidity. If you don't want to get pregnant, get on birth control AND use a condom AT ALL TIMES. There are lots of people out there that want kids and can't have them. It's much better to give them up for adoption instead of having an abortion. I don't think it's murder... I just think it's wrong.

it's sad that they treat people like that because regardless of what others think, a person is going to do what they want to do!! People don't know what others are going through and are quick to point the finger or pass judgment like they're perfect and no one is perfect!! It's easy to criticize or misjudge someone especially if you don't know their situation!! Some people have children knowing that they're not going to take care of them and in some cases, that's worse than people having abortions because it hurts more to see a potential child being neglected!!

People have to do what they feel is best for them and it mainly depends on their situation and sometimes their character!!!

Having an abortion is up to the woman. And to me only the women should have this option. its her body and she is the one that Carry's this child. NOT THE MAN!!!

But for me to have one would be because: i was raped or that there was some sort of defect.

Every women has the right to choose.. know body has the right to choose for her.
