I have cut back eating to try and lose weight. I have been only having a small apple for breaky, a couple of teaspoons of vegies at lunch and dinner. My weight is gaining every day. I dont want to eat anything that I cant tolerate, or that has been recommended that I dont have due to my deterioating immune system.
My legs are getting worse, and am finding it difficult just to walk around my unit, so much so that I have been sleeping or laying down watching movies. For those who dont know, I am NOT allowed dairy, wheat, rice, soya, graveys, sauces, all fruit (except apples) dressings, eggs, Vitamin K. I need moisture and variety as I have no saliva due to my autoimmune disease (sjogrens syndrome). I have cut back on my food intake and cant exercise, so not sure what is left, but im desperate cause weight is still going on. I do not eat between meals. I welcome any suggestions thankyou.

since you can't exercise, I highly recommend the drug topamax. It's not a diet pill, but some doctors prescribe it for weight loss (off-label). And it works. I have no appetite on this medicine. Combine it with a healthy low-fat eating plan. Hopefully, one you lose weight, you will be able to walk so that the weight will stay off.

i am sorry to hear of your condition. maybe you should speak to a doctor other than your own to get a second opinion as to what options you have. exercises seem not to be an option and with your medical condition there is only so much you can eat maybe you should look into gastric bypass surgery. it has it's risks and it has also been quite a successful form of weight loss to the right candidates. good luck God bless

I don't know how much overweight you are or if surgery would be appropriate for you. If you have insurance, they might pay for gastric bypass or lap band surgery. If thats too extreme, I have heard that LA Weightloss does a good job of helping people to lose weight sensibly.

Try nutrisystem... it is a little expensive when you see the price but if you average it out, it comes out to less than what you normal spend per day...the food is pretty good and a big vareity to choose from....i lost 20lbs so far using it in 2 months.....you can eat more than what they send you like adding foods....the program comes with a book of foods you may add to your diet and how much you may eat....P.S. if you like to eat salads, use the spritzer dressing by wishbone it has the least amount of calories, fat and carbs plus it taste good (i like the balsamic vinegarette the best) also do exercise but do not over do it...when you over exercise you are actually putting stress on your body...well good luck!

You shoul dprobably speak with your endocrinologist, family doctor, or a nutritionist. You may need to be careful of dietary restrictions that you put onyourself, that are not doctor authorized. With autoimmune, your body reacts very differently to situations that otherwise would not affect another ebing. Trying to lose weight may actually cause you to gain, as your body would fight you on it. You need professional advice.

Eat whatever you can tolerate in small portions 5 to 6 times a day. If you deprive yourself, your body goes on survival mode and holds on to all the fat it can. Good Luck
