I bought two bags of gravel for an art project but only used a tiny bit. Now I don't know what to do with the rocks. There is a beach forty steps from my house however....

if the beach already has rocks then it's not a bad idea to put them there, but if it is sandy do not put them there. I would post them on www.craigslist.com you can either sell them or give them away people are always giving away things on this site.

Hi, I suggest a litter box for each cat. Sometimes one cat will not let another near to it so they go next to it. Also some do prefer their own. As for types of litter - I use the crystals for my four cats. I scoop everyday and change the trays when most of the litter turns yellow ( this is the urine absorbed). There is little or no odour. I also use covered litter boxes. This also makes sure the litter isnt kicked out around the box. Clay litter smells the worst- wet clay is bad enough, but add cat urine, etc makes it worse. Clumping can cause internal problems if the litter is ingested - eg when kitten cleans litter off paws - as it increases by 60%. The pellets made from recycled newspaper doesnt smell very much, can be scooped and (the scooped bits) can be flushed down toilet. Another one we use in the cattery for the kittens is layers pellets - works out very inexpensive, and the bits can be flushed. For the main cattery, so therefore the adult cats, we use shredded newspaper (some newspaper sheets are laid at the bottom of tray). They are changed everyday - sometimes twice a day if one cat has a very stinky ****

Littering

if the beach is all sand, with no rocks, then it is littering because it would cause discomfort for barefoot people (most) walking on the beach.
If the beach already has rocks/gravel on it, then no. It would be like throwing water into the ocean

As long as the beach is a pebbly beach and not a sandy one, I'd say it's fine. If it's a sandy beach, then just find a place that already has gravel, and mix it in there.

Hey - good for you for being concerned and not wasting!!! ;-)

I dont think it would be littering since a beach is full of sand and pebbles already =D

you bought the gravel right?? why not try to make your money back and try to sell whats left over? then if you cant get rid of it...try giving it away. when all that doesnt work then dump it somewhere.

You might mess up the natural dirt there, or get a fine if someone sees you.

Put a free ad on craigslist.org and someone will take it from you. I promise someone out there needs it!
