You answered your own question sweetie - you are only a 14 year old female - YOU ARE STILL GROWING! And the best time for your body to do all that work is when you are sleeping. That's why newborns sleep SO MUCH & they grow SO FAST! Just listen to your body, it knows what it needs more than you do.

i think you are adjusting to your new schedule. take some more time of sleeping 10-6:30 or so. eventually your body will acclimate. I have the same problem. I sleep ALOT. After blood work said I was fine, i took up walking and I have been doing somewhat better. It is often a sign of lack of exercise. It can be a sign of low iron/anemia. Keep a consistent schedule for a few weeks and if it keeps up see a doctor. I know my sleeping problems started when I was about your age. I'm 24 now and I still sleep a lot. Good luck.

there's nothing wrong with you, you sleep that much because you need to sleep that much to get energized. you probably get tired during the day by doing exercises and other exhausting things, for example, in the opposite situation, if someone has a lot of energy at bedtime, they have a hard time going to sleep and wake up early. and everyone need a different amount of sleep, some people sleep 4 hours and feel perky in the morning, you are just on the other side of the spectrum.

It could be a health issue, in which case, you might want to see a doctor. However, it could be that you just need to be a little more active. Try to get some exercise or find some interests that challenge your mind. Find some other cure for boredom rather than sleep.

Your body must need rest for some reason or another. Often our bodies know more about what we need. There might be something that is sapping your energy - when I am sick, my sleep more than usual because my body needs the rest in order to recuperate.

My sister has the same problem, try not to nap in the day and go to bed earlier. Relax yourself in the night.
