I know this place in Memphis called Amazon would take your pictures but you have to do some work for them first. First, they are going to teach you all the things about modeling, but it is like a little school. It don't last long, but when you are finished with them they will give you a diploma and automatically fix you up with an agent. This is were you start your modeling career off, you probably can look of the internet for it. I don't know how far you are from Memphis though, but with the opportunities in this country your mom will probably take you herself because there is not any.

I'm assuming you've discussed this with your parents. You need their support and help and they will probably need to be part of any contract decisions you make.

You might see about finding an agent first. Most will probably talk to you without committing you to anything right away.

Many professional photographers and advertising agencies are usually on the lookout for photogenic potential models. You can look into model agencies, but check them out carefully before you sign any agreements with them.

You could get assignments to model for catalogs, and could be eligible for many kinds of assignments. Don't agree to any nude modeling until you have fully looked into what the law says about it and how you can be protected--at your age it's best not to do it at all.

Important thing is to make sure you have all the legal bases covered before you get in front of anybody's cameras. Mom and dad and the family lawyer are vital parts of that.

Good luck, sweetie. Hope to see you in the the advertising pages of my local newspaper.

It's not cheap and it's not easy! Just watch out for scams like agencies who make big promises. Alot of the so called agencies are really just photographers trying to make money by getting you to buy "necessary" photo sessions. If you are in doubt, you can check with the Better Business Bureau to see if an agency is legit.

You will need to have a comp card made, which consists of a headshot along with a few other shots like profile, full body, black and white, and color in different settings to showcase your versatility. Your comp card also lists your info like your height, weight, shoe size, bust, waist, hip measurements, etc.

This is like your business card. If a designer contacts agencies to find a brunette female who looks between the ages of 18-21 and is a size 2, the agency will send them the comps of their models who fit that description. You will need several comp cards, and you need a professional fashion photographer to do them because they will know what the industry is wanting. Your average photographer may take exceptional pictures, but they wouldn't be experienced with the constantly changing trends in fashion print photography or photo manipulation. If your photographer says that unedited photos are OK to use, find another photographer! I hate to say it, but you aren't going to find a decent headshot that hasn't been edited to make the model appear to have perfect skin and bright eyes with perfectly separated lashes. Even the "natural looking" photos are digitally edited.

Depending on where you live and who your photographer is, you can generally expect to spend anywhere from $600 on the cheap side up to about $1500 for mid range for your photo shoot and comp cards.

I would strongly suggest checking www.imta.com to find out more about different agencies and photographers. They even have a convention that is swarming with talent scouts-the perfect way to land a job!

If you are just looking for some small scale modeling, check with local dress shops and department stores. They sometimes need models for prom or back to school fashion shows, etc.

Good luck!

you need and agency, but remember you never have to pay an agency. you only pay for your pics dont get scammed, if they try to tell you to pay for classes or something else it's a scam.
once you find an agency they will send out picture for you and you can start modeling and building your portfolio. check online to find real credited agencys. they will tell you if your good enough to model.
