Blasphemy has been a crime since the very earliest times for which we have records and it characteristic of a political system which is at least partially theocratic.
Defining blasphemy is difficult because what it is ends up being dependent upon the religious views of whoever is doing the investigating. Thus, the existence of blasphemy always takes two to exist: a giver and a receiver. Generally speaking, however, it involves some sort of insult towards or evil speaking about God, God's attributes or God's instructions.

During the time the New Testament was being written, miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit were given to certain individuals. The people living during this time saw with their own eyes the power of God yet still rejected Him. When God's word was confirmed through these miracles and people rejected it, there was nothing left to offer as proof that God had revealed Himself. Therefore, those who rejected God were blaspheming against the Holy Spirit by denying God. We cannot do that today because we do not have miracles confirming the word. It's already been revealed and confirmed.

Too say anything bad about the Holy Spirit. Like if some says that the Holy Spirit said to do this or that, and someone says that wasn't the Holy Spirit it was the devil. Because some of the things God asks us to do seem strange and unusual.

Blasphemy against the Spirit
- Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven (Matthew 12:31)
Is the sin of attributing to Satan
- But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons." (Matthew 12:24)
What is the work of the Spirit of God
- But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28)
We really do not know why Jesus said this sin is unforgivable.
With love in Christ.

The holy spirit speaks to you of what he hears or is told by the lord our god. To blasphemy him is to deny him over and over again until that still small voice inside falls silent.

Hi.
Good to see you included an info link HOWEVER........
IT IS WRONG.
TO SAY THAT THE BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN NOT HAPPEN TODAY....IS BORDER LINE BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT-TO BE EXACT.
*You see...the bible true/literal/for today also.
Please understand this. =) ...........
The B.of the H.Spirit is DENYING THE HOLY SPIRIT- THAT IS WHEN HE SAYS THAT WE NEED TO *REPENT FOR OUR SINS.....AND OTHERS PREACH ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED-THIS IS *SELF-DAMNATION.
**BLASPHEMY IS- DEYNING THE ONE(HOLY SPIRIT) THAT 4GIVES SIN...SO "IF" YOU DO NOT ASK FOR 4GIVENES....YOU INFACT-CANNOT BE 4GIVEN.
THIS IS BLASPHEMY.
REFUSING THE NEED FOR HIM IN YOUR LIFE ON GOING.(FOR 4GIVENESS OF SINS, THROUGH REPENTANCE).
*The last verses in the bible WARN BELIEVERS...to not ADD or TAKE AWAY from the (bible).
or.......they will be damned as unbelieving people will.
No difference. No respector of persons.
He loves all, and judges all, for OUR OWN ACTIONS.
GODBLESS YOU AS YOU SEEK THE TRUTH-LIVE4TRUTH=]

MANY and probably EVERY pastor I've heard, says that it is the rejection of Jesus. I WOULD ALSO add, that it COULD be the rejection of The Baptism in The Holy Ghost. Just my laymans opinion.
I Praise The Holy Ghost ALSO!! He did SO MUCH for ME!! He has shown me VISIONS, and things in OTHERS lives that I HAD to know for MYSELF, for others. ALL 3 ARE one. We must worship, obey, and appreciate all as One, who act in accordance with eachother!
