Why am I so SHORT?

Question

I am 14 and about to turn 15 and am still stuck at 4'11!?! Over the past 6 years ive only grown about 2 inches a year and never had a change in growth patterns. My dad is 6'0! and my brother is 5'11! my dads dad was 6'0! I feel as if I was cheated of living a good life. I already take growth hormone injection shots everyday for 6 months and really has done nothing almost. I won't probley ever get a girlfriend like this since there all taller than me! When am in public I feel as if am a small child still and don't match up to anyone my age. So now am alwes depressed and ashamed of myself. What else can I do?

Don't worry brother, you still have time to grow. You are only 14 and turning 15. guys grow slowly than gals. only gals stop growing when they reach their puberty ...but guys will still grow till they reach certain height. You said your dad is 6'0, and your brother is 5'11. You don't have to worry at all, both your family are all tall, so why worry. You have time and be patient, and I know how you feel in front of all people, but you have time wait. You will never know, you may end up tall once in a yr or before you reach university or college. Most guys are so short in highschool, but once they reach around 17 up till mid 23 booom the height will reach high. :)...do not worry, be happy...i am gal, and I am short, I worry about my weight because I am only 80 pounds, age 24, height 5'1. lol...I always cry, but god made me pretty I guess. ehehehe...I don't know man, life is always like hell, but once you get use to it life is like heaven, Have confidence in yourself, everything you think will happen true. So be proud of who you are, one day for sure you will grow, and think about this comment I wrote to you now, and you will thank me for this and all the people who supported you in this "ANSWER" :) one other thing, don't use growth hormone, might affect you. stop using it, natural grow is always a glow. :)

Well one angle you could take for this is become a really snazzy dresser, and to help give you a few extra inches wear some elevator shoes. They add like 2-3 inches depending on the shoe and no one can tell if they are elevator shoes or not. You can get some decent ones from here, or better yet you can just buy the pads directly from these guys, pop them in your regular shoes, and then just not lace up the first loop of your shoes in the front so they are comfortable.

I used to be really short too, also kudos to you for using hormone injections, they didn't use those when I was a kid. A couple of other examples you could try using are wearing shirts that stop at your waist and don't go any lower, this can accentuate the look of height, if you can grow some handsome looking facial hair do that too if you haven't already, a nice thick but not to thick chain on your wrist, maybe a chain on your neck, and so forth. Essentially your probably going to have to combat the whole people thinking your younger than you are thing so basically anything that makes you look older is what your aiming for.

You should know that growth hormone is the first of a chain of reactions. Growth hormone causes the release of somatomedins which may cause the release of other compounds that cause growth to occur. If GH is not doing the trick for you, then whoever is giving the GH shots needs to look at various somatomedin levels and the effects there to see what is going on.
I don't know what else can be done, but with the somatomedin levels and your reaction to them understood, then you have a better picture of what your prognosis is.

Hey buddy im the exact same age as you and im also 4.11 i know it really sucks i also feel like a little kid walking around all the girls in my school are taller than me and my parents are short my dad 5.9 and my mothers 5.1 so i dont have a good chance to grow as tall as you will grow and by the way if a girl wont go with you because of your height that's because she isnt true once you find someone who only care abiut you for you and not your height thhan she would be the one

I was not much taller than that when I was your age. I didn't think I would ever grow. But, around the time I turned 17, I finally did. I am now 5'11. As far as getting a girlfriend, a true girlfriend won't care how tall you are. Honest. Never be ashamed of yourself if you are a good person. I know it doesn't help much now, cause it didn't help me much then, but time has a way of dealing with these sort of things. Good luck, and take care.

First of all you are you and who you are is special. Quit comparing yourself to others. I am short and come from a short family. My 60 year old grandma is smaller than you. She got married and had 5 kids, two of whom are twins! You will continue to grow until you are 21. You never know you may have a major growth spurt and pass everyone up. Just don't worry about it too much. I am sure there are people out there who can relate. My husband has a weight issue but you grow up to accept this just how you are. Good luck

It's hard to say why your so short, but you shouldn't put your self down. Accept what you are and get out there and live. I knew a young man who was like you and believe me he didn't have any problems with getting girls, not at all, in fact he did better than most of the other boys/men. If you pity our self, it's going to show and ruin your personality and people are going to sense it.
Accept and be proud of your self and it will show in your personality and you will be more popular

Don't worry you are just a late bloomer! My brother was 5'2 when he graduated from HS!!!!!!! Now, he's 25 and 5'9!!!! Yes, you may not make 6'0, but trust me you will grow taller.

not to worry. nature has its own reason. i have known a school friend..very short -- when he was 12-13 yrs. old...then I saw him...2-3 decades later...I had to look up to see his face...again it is nature -- and not everyone can explain the why?
just accept it and live happily with yourself.

well I am sure you are not going to stay like that you will have a growing explosion hopefully...... U are complaining about it?!? i am about your same age, i am 6'2" and i dont want to grow any more.... T_T and i still have 5 years of growing to come T_T
