we are looking towards hardcore sanctions. War is an option but it is one of the last options.
America has more soldiers. Only 200000 at the max are in Iraq right now. In the Gulf war, we sent 500,000. That means 300,000 are in other locations and in reserves. plus many many people have joined since then. We arent running out. I believe stretched thin is fair enough to say though
One saction that we will use is a blockade sanction where all ships going in and out of n korea can be searched. Either n korea suffers terribly or they start a war.

I belive that if proof is found that a nuclear device was built by North Korea, the U. S. will wait until U. N negotiations and sanctions have failed and then, use surgical strikes, possibly a naval blockade, but i doubt a very large land battle, to force North Korea to surrender to U. N. demands, or just destroy their nuclear facilities outright. A irresponsible country run by an idiot like Jim jong dong wong or whatever his name is , with no checks or balances in the government, can never be allowed to get nuclear weapons.
By the way, the only way a nuclear weapon could get in the United states is if it was Fed-Exed here. Even the missles in development can't reach halfway to the U.S. The main fear is that they will sell them to terrorist groups, or use them against South Korea.

Bush will do absolutely nothing. He won't get into another war even if Kim Jung il came over and started to prod Bush with a stick. The President is almost at the noose for Iraq, he is definitely going to just ride out the rest of his term on easy street. And let the next guy deal with the war and trigger happy Kim Jung il. But seriously, Kim Jung il couldn't strike a dead fly with a 20 ft. by 20 ft. fly swatter if it counted on his life. If Kim Jung il ever does to launch anything at the U.S., the missile or nuke would probably get 2 ft. off the ground and explode right in his face.

And how exactly is N. Korea threatening the US? Just because they exploded one little bomb? Ha! Who should be worried? China, that's who! Their little brother is getting out of hand! China is the reason N. Korea exists, so let them worry about it. The US should only concern itself if N. Korea threatens S. Korea or Japan, who are US allies.

It depends who gets their way , if the democrats do then we will try to have diplomatic discussions but seeing how bush would like to take this our approach might end up being sanctions, another war , pressuring other countries such as china and then probably coming out of the war at the last minute again seeing it's going nowhere .

Hmmmmm, maybe we'll have to stop our own terroristic behavior and actually consider other countries' rights in our foreign policy decisions?
Do you think N. Korea wants a nuke for offense or for defense?

I believe the next plan of attack is to have Kim Jong-il assassinated. Clearly sanctions will not work, and anything short of blowing North Korea off the map will not do any good.
