Well, this is not true. I have taught English in Prague and I have many European friends. Almost all of the couples I know want to have children. Europeans seem to be a little more practical though. They tend to wait until they are a little older and more established before starting a family. The other thing I noticed that many of these couples do not believe in traditional marriages. Many of them are in happy, committed relationships, and have lived together for years, but do not feel the need to formalize their relationship with marriage.

I think you should subscribe to a magazine that realizes Europeans are just like everyone else. If their theory is true, the population of Europe would be on the decline. The last time I looked, that wasn't the case.

There are American couples that dont want to have children either! The reasoning is, why bring children into the world the way it is! You also have to look at all of the things you give up once you have children! It may sound selfish, but your life is no longer your own once you have kids!! The kids will ALWAYS come first.

i think the people in this country need to take the same opinion. we are suppose to hit a population of 300 million this month. with the statistics showing that only 1/3 of the population is supporting the other 2/3 through taxation (welfare, ssi, disability etc) that means 100 million are paying for 300 million. dont seem right does it.

It could mean that Europe faces a future where Middle Eastern immigrants are the dominant ethnic group.

Far as I know, the Middle Eastern folks are reproducing like rabbits.
