I'm a college student and I had to sit out a semester because I didn't have anymore money. My mom doesn't have the best credit so it's almost impossible to get her to cosign a loan for me. Where could I go to get a loan that I can get on my own.

The Department of Education. You need to fill out a FAFSA. Get all your tax info from the last year and go to their website. Fill out a form, and within a few weeks they'll let you know what kind of loan you're eligible for, and you might even be able to get a grant.
Your financial aid advisor should be able to help you with this!

Banks don't provide traditional student loans--and the loans they provide are much more expensive than government loans--which are guaranteed to you as a student regardless of your or your mother's credit. Further, no one cosigns this.

Go to your school's financial aid office and talk with someone there to put you on the right track. You'll have to fill out a FAFSA form, available there or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Another good resource for government-based student loans and grants is salliemae.com, a provider of government funded student loans.

go to your student aid website for your state and look it over. Have you filled out the varioius financial aid forms and determined that you can't get grants or loans on your own. Contact the school's financial aid office for guidance or direction. consider a part time job. Apply for a scholarship.

Yeah, fill out a FAFSA, apply for a loan.... It's that easy... Only thing is your school has a set amount that is the maximum you can borrow. they think that amount is the most you will need for that semester. also there are subsidized and unsubsidized loans. subsidized are loans where interest is paid for you while your in school, unsubsidized is where you pay the interest while your in school. Anyway, you wont need a co-signer. no fear...
