In olden Hindu homes they used to perform Panchayatana pooja. Even the male members had to take bath and do some penance before commencing the poojas. There are specific agama shastra rules for such poojas. Violating those rules would bring calamity on the house or utter poverty. This is the reason why Ladies during menstrual period were asked to be away from the pooja rooms Kitchen etc.Times have changed and hardly any one performs a proper pooja. In fact There are many houses where there are no shrines at all. With a restricted family the lady of the house cannot be off the kitchen due to social necessities,
But rules remain the same. It is advisable to avoid peer forming Pooja whikle menstuating.

Yes, I think Hindus do have a problem bout that. But now I think things are changing. But one of my frnds used to worship Goddess Kali & her mother never stopped her frm going to temple in those days. Her funda was that Goddess is also a female & she also must be having the same days as urs. But otherwise I dont know how many people agree with her. But I think that no one has a right to stop any1 from worshipping God under any circumstances. I dont know much cos I'm not a Hindu.I'm a Sikh & in our religion there r no such restrictions.

Whenever any one came out of the mess, the sound of the mess door attracts many cats to rush closer anticipating some balance food would be thrown. This is a common scene near our mess. Once, at such a time, one cat was just in the process of laying her kittens. This cat also rushed along with others while one of its offspring still hanging. Here when there is need one runs out in search and to reach the same.
If you want to pray nothing can stop. There is nothing wrong in it. You can light up a small lamp for praying in your private room until out of this period.
? to those who object it...... taking bath ... is it a proof that everything is clean? The creator knows who is praying for what puropse. If praying itself becomes wrong, i think there is something wrong somewhere may be a myth.

Read the Bible. God does not deny his own character, in the Old Testament it was a "cleansing" ritual, after Jesus saved us by grace we are no longer bound by the law, which requires cleansing, Jesus cleansed us all of all iniquity at the Cross, no more rituals, no more sacrifices, he was the last sacrifice. Accept Him, and you never have to worry about prayer at all. It was finished at the Cross.

yes they dont do that. my Hindu freinds also are not allowed in the kitchen -- they say that the food may get spolied.
it is not that u cannot pray -- u can pray in ur heart but just that they are not allowed to enter the prayer room. if i am not mistaken i think it is mentioned in Puranas. please try googling i am sure u will get some sholkas on that.
have a nice day. peace and blessings of Allah.

I agree with you. Pray to your higher power whenever you feel the need. Don't let anyone put conditions on your manifestion of love to your higher power. Your relationship with your higher power is intimate, it does not belong in someone else's criticism.
