Jesus prayed sanctify them through your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17 The scripture also teaches all scripture is given by God nd is profitable for reproof , correction, and instruction in righteousness 2 Timithy 3:16. I'm not claiming to undrstand it all but I believe what it teaches. There are some difficult passages to understand but part of the problem is not understanding the idioms of the language. For example there are a number of people who it is said were evil people and no did as evil as them again. This is just making a point the person was a really bad person. As far as people claiming the bible is untrustworthy becasue it is so old and has been traslated so many times, this is simply highly inaccurate. Those who make such claims are totally unaware of the history and credibility of the scriptures. There are more copies and in many languages than any other work of antiquity. Add to this they were copied in many languages and relatively early compared with other ancient works. There are over 25,000 partial and full manuscripts. the benefit is that with so many copies you can compare and see where there are any differences.

No. It contains scientific errors. While it's a little trite and over played, bats are declared by God to not be kosher because they are an unclean type of bird. It would be one thing if it was at the beginning or end of the list, where it might be seen as just a tag-on, but it's in the middle of the list.
One would imagine that the creator of all would know that bats are flying mammals, not birds.
If the Bible is the inspired word of God, it can have no errors. It has errors. Therefore, it cannot be the inspired word of God (modus tolens).

The only reason I believe the Bible is inspired is because the Church has declared it to be. The Church came before the Bible--Old Testament were from the community of the chosen people of God, the Israelites, the New Testament writers were all members of the Christian community, that is, the Christian Church. Without the Church, there will be no Bible for where will the teachings come from and by whose hands will they be written? From the works of the early christian historians such as Eusebius and the Apostolic and Church Fathers, and even the Bible itself we see the obvious: There were already christian communiites unified under the teaching and guidance of the Apostles themselves during the writing of the earliest books of the New Testament. In other words, the Church existed before the Bible and has all authority to dissect and declare inspired Word of God the ones among the many epistles circulated in the early christian times.
It might be surprising to those who haven't studied the history of the Bible that before 393 AD there was no formal declaration as to which books belong to the New Testament. Even longer before this time, churches from different cities and towns had differing "canon" or list of books that they read in the church and believed as inspired. So without the Church, we'd never know which books are inspired and which aren't.
A few here who answered quoted the Bible in proving why they believed it as Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 is very familiar and popular to many:
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instrucion in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
There are two reasons why this can't be done in proving the inspiration of the Bible:
1. The quote itself is rendered useless as its source is the one that stands to be proved(circular argument).
2. Paul here was writing to Timothy during the time when a large number of other books in the NT were still not written(example, Revelation--the last). This means that Paul can't be refering to the Bible since it didn't exist at the time he wrote to Timothy. To say that he was is to say that Paul was also refering to this same letter he was currently composing for Timothy as scripture which is, absurd. He then must have refered to only the Old Testament writings for again, how can someone refer to something that didn't exist?

I was not Born a Christian. But The Bible is inspired by the Lord. Consider the Old and the New Testament Can you imagine illiterate people writing what we know as the Bible. If it was not inspired by God or if it is not His word then would so many follow it. Take any scripture you will find one thing that is common. Literacy. Mohamed never went to any kind of great school to write the Koran The only real literate that i know is Guru Gobind Singh Master of 6 languages and highly educated

I believe that the Bible is the Word of God without error. It is the only way God speaks to us today. It is complete where nothing can be added or taken away. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. It give us the gospel of our salvation of how the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day for our justification. Because I hear ed the gospel and believed my life has changed. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

I have always believed in the Bible. I was bought up to respect the word of God. After all the Apostles were our guide and the word of god was given to all twelve to deliver amongst his disciples.
To describe and to be more detailed about the Bible and the Psalms of God is alot more involved than one is able to give full explanation of What / Who / and Where and When.
It's all to do with faith and what one believes.
I was bought up a Catholic and taught by Mercy nuns. Strictly speaking, you either believed or you didn't.
I must admit I rebelled after leaving the college, but I always came back to my roots and that was the Church and my faith.
I don't think you can take something like faith in ones religion away from them.
No matter what religion you are, in this world you must believe in something, it's what makes the world go round.
I do believe Religion is what causes so much friction in our daily lives.
It starts Wars and divorces you from Family.
It's not the colour of your skin that divides a peaceful world, it unfortunately is your faith in what book or religion you go by.
Sad but true

Absolutely!!! I believe in the Bible, the whole Bible, not just bits and pieces. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instrucion in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

The Holy Spirit dwells within me, enabling me to know when I read scripture that it is in fact inspired by Him. And every word in the Bible I have found to be true in my life, whether it is speaking about my sinful nature, God's power to save, how to manage finances, maintaining relationships with others... whatever the issue, it's in the Bible, and it is all profitable for me. Taste and see, that the Lord is good!

I won't be popular with anyone for this, but...
I believe it is inspired, but not infallible. Written by men inspired by God, but fallible men nonetheless.
I believe there is a reason for this. The writings were never meant to stand alone. They were meant to be understood in conjunction with a relationship with God.
And yes, pseudo-scientists will call that delusional, and fundamentalists will tell me I'm going to hell. Don't care. It's up to God, not any of them.

Yes, bcz the Bible brings such complete changes in my life and leads me directly to Christ in truth and in spirit.
I might add that the prophecies found therein have been accomplished exactly as fortold, down to the very smallest details.
