I have no link to give you, but I do have some thoughts. It is far easier and it (in some ways) makes life far less complicated for someone to believe that the world always works in one of two ways (e.g. good or bad, it's either in the Bible or it's not).

For some people, therefore, the notion that evolution is a hoax helps them not to feel that their entire Christian belief system is threatened. That is, if evolution is *not* a hoax, it raises far too many questions and doubts... so, the easy way out of that dilemma is to say that evolution is just one big hoax.

Don't let anyone tell you that Intelligent Design has lots of proponents either. When you trace back all of the "references" on the "literature" on Intelligent Design, it boils down to about six people. These six include William Dembski, Michael Behe, and others. ID is not science. It's creationism with a new name. For more information on that, I recommend reading "The Tower of Babel" by Robert T. Pennock, who is a professor at Michigan State University and who provided expert witness testimony in the recent Dover vs. Board of Education court case.

Christians have their Fox-news-like echo chamber. They have "think tanks" that come up pseudo-scientific "proofs" that evolution is a hoax, and then they all give testimony to each other of the truthiness of the proofs.

The worst thing is that the original premise that their God couldn't have used Evolution is flawed. There are Christian biologists who know that Evolution is true, and have reconciled that with their beliefs. The rest of Christians who deny Evolution have to live a double lie.

I like your response to the guy with the breaks. You really put him in his place. Beautifully done. How can he think its 50/50? That would imply that over time there are 50% brakes death over time. If he really thinks "chance" has kept it so that the broken brakes probability is always that low, I don't see how he can reject Evolution even if misinterpreted as being chance only

And yes, anyone that says that has to be one of the 2 options you've given. That girl was smoking something for sure.

That is the most ludicrous thing that I have ever heard. 50/50, well first his math is way off, second he is confusing faith with probability. That's like saying I am going to win the lottery because I have faith that I will, probability tells me that I will most likely not win the lottery but I play anyway because I have a slight chance of winning. This guy needs to get back into school.

I respect people who believe in creation ... as long as they don't try to sway my view, I wont try to sway theirs.

Everyone needs something SOLID in their life ... if believing that an immortal being watches over them, and protects them, AND keeps them from doing evil onto others, then by all means ... please let them believe whatever they wish to believe in. It doesn't harm anyone.

In my opinion, nobody is harmed if you don't want to believe in dinosaurs, ancient oceans, and natural selection (concepts which seem perfectly plausable to most westerners)

If on the other hand, those who "believe" try to force others to believe in their dogma - then thats just wrong.

Respect others, even if you don't agree with their beliefs - as long as they're not doing you any harm. Unfortunately there are many circumstances where the harm may be indirect ... such as the current "CRUSADE" the United States is fighting in Iraq.

I often laugh at the majority of answers to my questions. I'm starting to lose hope for mankind. If ignorance was poisonous I believe we'll all die horrible deaths.

It doesn't really matter because ALL the really important people who need to know this information, like doctors, scientists, nobel prize winners, geologists, paleotologists, etc, they don't question what's been proven.

It's only idiots who pretend to know what they are talking about who go around, and make dumbazzes out of themselves.

So they say it is a hoax, yet fail to bring their evidence to the table. I simply chuckle to myself and scroll down hoping the next answers are more respectable.

He's probably just a kid who has been brainwashed. Someone gave his this pseudo-site and it sounded good, so he thought he had some valid ammunition. I just feel sorry for him.
