An atheist has every right to celebrate whatever holidays she or he wishes. She is probably celebrating life, which we should all do more often.

Probably because most of us atheists understand that the Christian holidays were borrowed from the pagan religions. Do a little research before you start telling her that she has no right to celebrate anything that she wishes.

You do realize Christmas was borrowed from a Pagan holiday, right? No? How can you celebrate a "Christian" holiday without knowing its true history. As for Easter, well, I don't celebrate that. Though I do love those chocalate eggs.

I am an athiest, and i celebrate Christmas. I do not go to church, have a nativity scene, or say happy birthday to Jesus! I love the holiday season, and not the Christian meaning behind it!

Why do Christians worship their god on the pagan holidays of easter and christmas? Before anyone says "that was OT", eh-eh, check out Paul in Corinthians on the subject, absolutely no worshipping god as the "pagans" do, not even just a tiny bit.

I celebrate them because they are part of an ancient culture and a pagan one at that, its like living history.

Uh, most of us do the holidays. For most of us it's a tradition that family has done forever. Just because we don't do the religious part of it doesn't mean that we don't keep it as a tradition centered on family instead. It's not a hard answer to think of.

I don't suppose you're Pagan are you? If you're not, you'd be a hypocrite if you celebrated Halloween and celebrated Easter with bunnies and eggs. That's the Pagan way.

Anyway, many of us have families that do celebrate it and wish for our presence at celebrations.
