The English Song composer Roger Quilter. His song cycle 'To Julia' is awesome. Beautiful piano textures with immensely colourful vocal lines. Also listen to 'passing dreams'.

I tend to like either Beethoven or Vivaldi. The first moovement of the Moonlight Sonata is amoing the most beautiful works of the "clasical" style, and Vivaldi's Four Seasons is my favorite piece of classical work without question.

Shostakovich. The sounds he gets from an orchestra are unlike anyone else's, and amazingly personal and privately rebellious work that he did under Soviet oppression is wonderful to me.

Aaron Copland. I love most of his works. Fanfare for the Common Man, Appalachian Spring and Hoedown from Rodeo would be my top three! I love how he captured the pure Americana sound in his music.
