Many people use lotions and oils (light sesame is a good one) on their hairless Cresteds. Using a alot of heavy oil or lotion is likely to encourage pimples. I am lucky, mine has good skin and all I do is bathe him regularily.

Give him about 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in his food daily, or better yet, a salmon oil capsule every day. Especially in the winter when the air is drier, dogs need some oil in their food.
