There is nothing really set in stone, but pretty much any Athlon XP or Athlon 64 would be considered P4 equivalent (or better). ANY new processor or one built in the last 4 years would definately qualify as P4 equivalent (or better).

An Intel Core Duo will most likely work for a Pentium 4 processor... On the Comptuer with the AMD processor, right click on my comptuer and click properties. There it should list the AMD processor with the Intel Equivelant.

both of those chips are likely to work with just about anything, the main bottleneck for games these days is still video

look at the speed required (x GHz) - if your chip is ahead of that number, you can play. If your Athlon is 64-bit, you can probably play regardless, your Intel is 2-in-1, so not quite the same, but about the same idea, two chips better than one so they can share the processing if they are behind the game

nVidia has a new game suitability tester on their site somewhere

the middle 2 duo is extra useful because of the fact it has 2 middle whilst the p4 has purely one to no longer point out the middle 2 duo has a extra contemporary and extra useful shape then the p4 the quad is the final out of them 3 because of the fact it has 4 cores because of the fact the duo purely has 2 in case you get the quad i'm going to propose you have 2 gb of ram a minimum of for ultimate overall performance.
