I'm not sure what details are relevant so I'm listing everything possible. I have a set of images off of an older HP camera which are all approximately 2 mb in size. In the folder's detail window, I can see a thumbnail accurately depicting the image. However, whenever I try to open it, it says "drawing failed." I tried opening a Paint window and dragging the image into it and only about the top 1/4 of the window loaded.

Any idea what might be wrong and how that might be fixed? If you provide an email, I send you a sample.

The camera is an HP Photosmart C935. I have tried resaving the file in a different format and transferring it between two different computers to test on different software; neither work :( I have had this problem before and after I reinstalled the Windows.

A bitmap(bmp) maps each pixel of an image, on an identical time as a jpg is a compressed format which does not map each factor and subsequently loses extremely some coloration and large. you may not replace the extremely certainty that's altered, even a picture in the commencing up saved as a jpg will do the comparable, that's the finished factor of the form.

Contact me through my profile. We can swap email and I'll take a look at your file. No guarantees but I promise to look. I reworked the wire drawing in two technical manuals, they were all .bmp images. I have probably seen most of the stuff a bit map can do. Now if I can just remember some of the tricks.

Before you send, have you tried another program, even copying it to media and working at another computer. After all, the software should also be considered suspect.

try to open the file with in Paint by using the file menu to specify the file you want..you may be only dragging part of the picture in the way you are doing it...try zooming out also..you may in fact have the entire image but you just cant see it..
