Jess' question brought up one of my own... would a pittie need sweaters in the winter? I live in Japan, near Tokyo... it does get pretty cold....

He's a 10 month old Pit Bull terrier (short hair)... I got him early spring... Indoor dog... now I'm wondering if it snows should I get him those little shoes, too...

Hey MotherBear-

We have the same birth year!

Anyway, on to your question. I know my dog shivers when it's chilly; even when people think it's a comfortable temperature. Usually, I wrap her in her blanket when she's cold. My little dog is a mostly indoor dog. When we're on a walk and it's cold, I think a sweater is more kind than leaving her shivering. The dog books I read say the same thing.

depends on the dog if it is long hair then probably not. if it is short hair then either get a sweater or a pillow or blanket or somethin like that to keep it warm.

I have a boxer and i got her a sweater and jacket because she does get really cold.. i would say yes definitly! Plus it makes them even more cute

I would to keep him warm. My dog hates the little boots. He actually tried so hard to kick them of that he pulled a muscle.
