Your soul is His spirit inside of you, the essence of you, that He breathed into you when He gave you life in your mother's womb. This is the same spirit that searches for Him during your life and longs to return home to Him, which is what we do when our body dies.

He gave us freewill, if we deny Him, we cannot get back home. But, just like the prodigal son, God is standing there for all of us with open arms, right now, and up until the moment we allow Him into our hearts, even if it's a millisecond before our bodily death. He wants us all back home with Him. He is our Father.

Very tough question.

I believe that our bodies to our soul is like an egg to a chicken. Much like a developing chick before it hatches, it can still be affected by it's environment.

I think the term Rest In Peace applies here. I believe that a soul would naturally fall into a resting state until Judgment. This rest can be disturbed, how ever, hence ghosts.
Not being bound my mortal limitations, the soul would be able to perceive much more clearly that in it's mortal life. But at the same time, it looses it's ' Free will " So it is bound by it's new existence. Example, Seance.

These are just ramblings and educated guesses, so take them as you will.

The Bible definition of the soul is the person or the life that the person has. When the person dies, the soul dies according to the scriptures. Therefore, it is righteous on God's part to have commanded that any person attempting to contact a dead person should, himself, be put to death because the only entity which the live person could contact would be a demon posing as a dead person.

If it is stored in the brain, where is it stored? Why is it stored? How did it get there? Can it get out? How many are there? Is it stored intact, or must it be assembled? How do you know what you claim?
I believe that the soul is not stored in the brain. I believe that the soul is not stored at all. I believe that the soul is "breathed" into the body as the Bible states and resides at the will of God.

1. "And Jehovah God proceeded to form man out of the dust from the ground and blow into his nostrils the breath of life, AND THE MAN BECAME TO BE A LIVING SOUL" ~Gen. 2:7
... so WE are souls, that is we do not posess a soul.

2."the soul that is sinning, it itself will die" Ezekiel 18:4
... we are a soul, then therefore we die.

A SOUL DOESNT FLY, AND IT DOESNT FRY.

3. " For the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all..."
... so since we ARE a soul, and we ourselves die, we are conscious of nothing at all in death. so no, it is not possible for anyone to look down on us and show any emotion.

i want to see proof in the Bible as to my SOUL being WITH God in heaven.

poeple say that there loved ones' soul is with God in heaven, but as ive just explained, soul=fleshly body, and there is NO scripture or any other evidence or prophecy saying that a fleshly body entered heaven.

ANGELS however are "spirit creatures", but thats a whole different discussion, BUT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A SOUL, they WERE a soul.

Good questions. I'm not sure anyone knows for sure. Many religions have interesting thoughts on it, and science has yet to find a way to percieve it. Spiritual things are very subjective, hence all the differing perspectives.

I'm not sure what "your soul is with God" means. Maybe it means, "Dude, you're dead."

I like your question. I've pondered for a very long time asking myself the same thing. If our soul is with Him, then I guess we can't really see what's going on in the real world. I'll tell you what, the next time I die I'll try to talk to you. If you hear someone singing a terrible song, then that's my soul probably sitting in your livingroom, using your computer. :)

there's chemicals and hardware and software and then there is energy.
many believe the energy...and that it releases upon death is the soul.
many religions and there are near as many thoughts on this.. so hope you'll hear many versions.
who ever claims to know for sure is a god or a liar. what do you think are the odds of being each?

The soul consist of your mind, will, and emotion. Your spirit goes to heaven and that is what is one with God.

no.. the soul is inside the grave being tortured if u're bad and getting heaven's air if u're good. if u feel anything.. it is the Djinn... those other species of people that God created along with humans. they are made of fire and we cannot see them but they can see us. they can control people.. and its scary.. but they too will be answering to God on the day of judgment along with humans
