a few days ago mu boyfriend and i had had a confrontation and we had shoved each other and when he was about to leave i held onto the door handle as the car was heading away and i got hurt. he is facing a felonious assault and a domestic violance. i wrote a statement and i dont remember what i had written because i was hurried by the police and i am bipolar and had taken my meds and i was very upset and i wrote that i was in the jeep leaning or something like that. the state, not me pressed charges and i had to bail him out. what do i do and is he facing time. i called the officer tonite that arrested him and told him i believe what i wrote wasnt accurate and he said he would meet with the prosecuter and i tomorrow and tell the judge to drop the felony 3, but that is up to the judge...is he facing time?

I don't think he should be facing any charges if youre dumb enough to hold onto the handle as he was driving away.

You will have to fill out a form telling why your made your statement the way your did, and you might even have to prove that your are bi-polar. But im sorry to say this, but there was a dispute, he may get into little trouble over the fight you two got into.

It depends on a few things, first what state you live in, second is this your boyfriends first offense with domestic violence? If it is his first offense than most likely he will be ordered to take an anger management class and to possibly pay a fine.

You need to be very honest about this. It seems from what you said, you were at fault also and he apparently didn't men to hurt you . If you don't stand strong by the Truth , he will pay a heavy price for both of you . Don't let that happen.

let me see your boy friend is abusive and you bail him out and worry if he will go to jail

No you can not drop the charges and your case is exacty why, so that after someone is hurt, they won't latter be fooled into going back to them and drop charges. they do this for the protection of the perosn abused.

I doubt they will drup charges, if this is his first offense most likely probation

Look, he may have hurt you accidentally, but if he killed you accidentally, he still wouldn't be off the hook, right?

This is what's known a consequences, which I'm sure every adult you've ever known has drilled into you and to which you said, "Yeah. yeah..."

Good luck.
