I've liked her for a little over a year now. Here's some background:

I met her in my high school creative writing class. We never really got the chance to talk because we sat on opposite sides of the room. I wrote funny stories in that class and when I read them aloud she smiled and laughed. The semester passed and still I never said anything. I told a few friends about my crush on her and I'm not sure if it got back around to her or not. Anyway, in February she got this boyfriend who I don't really feel deserves her and they're still together. I still like her though; we share music taste and sense of humor and she's pretty and she's smart. We comment each other on MySpace every once in a while--her often posting first--so I can't help but think she has a little bit of interest.

Anyway, my question is: How do I get close to her and become friends with her? Even if friendship is the boundary, I'd be glad. Dating her would be great though. We have history class together this year. :-\

just try to hang around with her. find something you both are intersted in and just go from there. Show her that she made a wrong choice in guys.

What were you waiting for, a sign from God? Well, I guess I can't be too hard on you because I've been through the same situation a couple of times (before I got my PhD in love-ology). As soon as you realized you liked her, you should have chatted with her directly, got her number, and tried to arrange dates. You waited too long and some chump got in ahead of you. Unfortunately, about all you can do is chat with her at this point. I suggest you stop wasting your time concentrating on this one girl and try to see if there are other girls you like and who like you back. If this one REALLY had interest in you, she would probably dump the chump and get with you. I wouldn't wait for her if I were you. Good luck with the next one!

Its sounds like everything is perfect except for one little thing...she's already in a relationship. But hows the relationship going between them? It seems as though you two are already good friends. You've just got to wait a while. See what comes next. Don't encourage her to break-up with her current boyfriend though. Most of the time, guys who are good friends during a break-up(not done by you) become the next potential boyfriend. Just think about it.
