Actually, both Paul and Job come to mind. Job lost everything- his health, his family, his possessions, but still continued to praise God throughout his ordeal. Paul turned from being the wicked Saul. He opened his heart and life to Christ and began preaching the Word everywhere, including places he was known in to be evil. These two men have a couple of great testimonies.

I most relate to Peter, even though he denied jesus three times, jesus still loved and forgave him.

My favorite is caleb, ate 85 years old he ask joshua for the mountain that the giants lived on, and was given hebron.
I can almost see that 85 year old man with a grey beard down to his knees, wearing nothing but a loin cloth, a sword in his hand runnig up the mountain to fight the giants, nad when they saw him comming they ran for their lives.

John the Baptist. Filled with the Holy Spirit, in the womb. Lived in the desert, in fellowship, with GOD alone. Total comfort with who he was, I mean, he wore camel skin and ate honey and locust. He was Jesus' cousin and was chosen to be the forerunner to announce his coming. He was the last of the Old Testament prophets. He was bold enough to get call a spade a spade. Not to mention he baptized, the savior and also died for him. That's a pretty good legacy to leave behind.

Mary of Bethany, because she desired to spend as much time as she could at Jesus' feet learning from him.

David, because he was a man after God's own heart

Paul, because after he had the confrontation with Jesus he began to speak boldly and share the good news with others.

Heatmizer,
I would have to say the Apostle Paul. Though I do enjoy Elisha. Paul was on it. There was no one to compare him to in the New Testament.

Elisha was a joker. I laughed when I was reading his story.

People like Joseph, Jacob, even Moses, but especially Abraham, I am completley jealous of, John the Revelator too.

Joshua. I went on a missions trip to Montana and we studied Joshua for two weeks. He was a strong leader that lead Isreal through some tough times. But he never lost faith in God!

From the OT, it has to be Deborah.
The one and ONLY woman EVER to rule Israel!

From the NT, Peter. Like someone else said, he is proof that I can flub it up, and still be loved by God!

Simon Peter--he was just as much an expert at screwing up as I am, but just like with Peter, the Lord keeps taking me back.
