You must first embark on a great journey of self discovery, finding your inner self and relinquishing all that is toxic in the way that you think and live. Then you find some magic beans or something... I never got past that first part.

Read and understand. Then if you agree find someone else who is Buddhist to talk to about it. But there is no initiation. When you finally accept Buddhism, you just know that now, you are Buddhist.
