I am diabetic and couldn't do the Atkins diet but my daughter did and lost 80# in 6 months and then she discovered she was pregnant again, so there went the diet. It wasn't hard at all, you just have to be determined to do it. After all you are changing your life style by changing the way you eat!

Good Luck

My dad calls Atkins the "start up diet." When he's getting ready to diet, he'll do Atkins for 2-5 weeks to get his body caught up and ready to get in shape. Then he'll move on to a more moderate diet. He loses a good deal of weight during that time. It's just too hard to maintain for a long period of time.

I tried it, but only did it for a month or so. Lost 10 pounds, but was having heart palpitations, because I've never eaten so much meat in my life. I'd rather have the excess weight than have a heart attack.

boo to atkins. It made me drained, gave me problems and tummy-aches, and, of direction, makes you prefer carbs much extra. for my area, reducing out an entire food team is unrealistic for long-term outcomes. eat 1200-1400 energy an afternoon with a great sort of finished grain carbs and fruit, a great sort of low fat protein, and somewhat healthful fat like that of nuts and olive oil. you will not experience disadvantaged, you will lose as much as two pounds a weeks, and your abdomen and kidneys will thank you for not overloading them with too lots fat and protein.
