Yes. The best way is to add yellow first then red. Once you add the red you can't lighten it.

I don't know of any reason why you couldn't. It might take some time to get the dye incorporated into the frosting so that it's not all streaky, but I imagine it would work just fine.
Sometimes, companies like Betty Crocker make orange frosting around Halloween, too. You might check that possibility.

Food coloring can be used to color any thing that is edible. There are three primary colors, that all other colors are made from they are: red, yellow and blue. To make green you would use blue and yellow. To make orange you would use red and yellow etc.

Yes, and it doesn't change the taste either. And if you want purple-use blue and red, and if you want green-use orange and yellow, etc. Plus, the more food coloring you use the darker the color is....good luck!

you can buy coloring gel which is food coloring and is in the same section at the store it would be better to use that but to get orange you need to mix red and yellow
