if you go to a tattoo parlor most of them use sterile needles....all the one's i've been to anyways. usually the hiv infected needles are from reused needles that are being used privately at home. sometimes symptoms of HIV don't show up for 10-15 years. if you are really concerned, best bet is to go have a test.

Now adays, they always use clean needles, so there is NO risk, you can even watch as they put a new needle in the tattoo gun. There is no way to know you have HIV unless you have a test, you can go for many, many years without knowing you even have it. There are some signs that HIV has turned to AIDS, but I do not know the signs, it doesn't show right away, they take a while. I believe brown spots on your hands are one.

If you went to a reputable business, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. The artist should always open the sterile needle package right in front of you and wear gloves throughout the process. There is no way early on to find out if you are HIV + without a blood test. Then you need to repeat the test in 3 months. If both are negative, you are ok...unless of course you are not taking the usual precautions (condoms, monogomous relationship, etc.) Good luck!

If they don't use clean needles very very high. If you are that worried about having aids go for a test!!! You can get one done for free as many times as you need to. Most places test you once and if the test is negative they tell you to come back to take another test. Cause aids can take a while to show up.

yes, you can if the previous person using the needle has HIV and the tattoo artist never sterilize or use a fresh needle. early signs of hiv is red spots on the upper body, swelling of the glands around the armpits or throat, but sometimes you can carry the virus and not notice anything...a hiv test is the only way to know if you are clean or not.

If the shop didn't clean the needle after the last tattoo & it was given to somebody with HIV you could have it! Or if ya get a jailhouse or garage tattoo it's also posible if the needle wasn't changed or sterilized!

well, any credited tattoo parlor will be using brand new needles, and then autoclaving the needles, then breaking them and throwing them away. so, if you got a tattoo at one of those places, i'd say its 99.999999% impossible you could catch HIV there.
if you got a tattoo from a man in prison named Skeeter, who used a rusty guitar string clipping, a ball point pen, and the motor from an electric razor, right after he got done raping a new inmate, and he'd been drinking moonshine he made in the toilet tank........... your chances are a little higher.

I they reuse a needle from someone who has AIDS, sure you can get. Most tattoo parlors will use new needles on every person. Ask to see them change out the needle when you get a tattoo.
