I seem to have the worst luck buying stuff with Craigslist. Even if I apply soon after a post is made, I always miss out. Either I get no response or I get "its sold". Is there some sort of program like the "sniping" programs for eBay that could help me. Is it possible that some of the ads are fakes, just to waste people's time (i.e jealous store owners who hate the internet???)

Some of the ads
are fakes,depending
upon the type of item being
sold, some more than others.
It's a very popular site, and most
people browse the top of the list where
the newest ads are, so you just have to be
ready. Just try to be quick about responding
and call if they provide a phone number. Ask a
lot of questions when you reply to an ad to help you
determine if their ad is legit. Be careful and look for any
red flags, and protect yourself by buying the item in person
or sending them money through PayPal or some other secured
source. COD has security benefits if you're having an item shipped.

Craigslist is a joke for that, too many flakes.
