Ok, first assume that you dont have a boyfriend. What are the chances of you going out with someone who asks you if you dont know them really well, but kinda like them?

I would try to get to know the person a bit more before going out with him, especially in this day and age.
I would ask go where we have mutual friends, to a BBQ or something like that, meet him there so if things aren't what I'd hope like if he gets or starts to show a side I didn't particularly cared for I would not feel obligated to leave with him. You have to be smart these days and can never be too careful

You cant like someone you dont know...do you mean someone I just met? If Im interested, and you'll know if I am or not, the odds are pretty good that I'll give you my number. Then its up to you to call, if you call we'll go out. My advice is to start small and simple, coffee or drinks. Coffee can last hours and drinks can become dinner if the date is going well.
