the day care I work at is $20 a day if your child is potty trained or $22 a day if she isn't.

If money is an issue, many places have Head Start programs, or ones similar to, that work on sliding scales and are designed to help young kids from homes where money is an issue to get a jump start on skills. Look in your yellow pages or call the area WIC office, child care services or even your local church.
Also, once a child is over the age of two, they are eligable for preshool placement through the public schools if they meet certain eligability. Things like economic need as well as communication issues are two of the big ones. Contact the Child FInd office of your local school district and find out what you need to do to have your child screened. Many of the programs are full days and some have partnerships with before and after school care.

Well you should really check out and visit any daycare you are planning to send your young child to...regardless of price. Especially if she is so shy, she may not communicate if there is a problem so really making sure she is going to the right place is important!

cheap is not always good! Isn't your child the most important thing in your life. Find a good sitter or family member if you are unable to put her in a good daycare. I was a single parent and know it is hard but you need to make sure they are safe

if your child is shy you should consider putting her in a daycare that doesn't have alot of kids, so that the teachers have more time to focus on her and help her with her speech. price shouldn't be your main concern. also have her evaluated by her doctor and maybe you can get a referral to a good school that helps kids with delays. you can call the bd. of ed. and try to get your child tested and see which programs they have available in your neighborhood. if you live in the bronx, or manhattan, the kennedy institute and harry s gordon schools are good. good luck

Cheap is not he way to go, remember you pay for what you get. Ask at your local church, they have daycares or church ladies that offer childcare. Good luck.
