simplistically, "nerves" are found within the Central "Nervous" system. But if you are really trying to be scientific about it, peripheral nerves are different than central nerves. Nodes of Ranvier, synaptic clefts, lateral or anterior horn cells, and ganglia all have different histiologic aspects, but in a more broad perspective, they are considered nerves, or an intregral part of the nervous system.
