Depends on how much silt and algae is in the water and the different types.

Well, I'll give you a clue. Long ago, when Queen Victoria was looking out over the Thames, she noticed that there were a lot of little wads of toilet paper floating out there, and she asked one of her Ministers of Parliament what they were. "Your Majesty," he replied, "those are notices that swimming is prohibited here."
