someone told me St. Vincent Depaul would be a novena to say for a person to be released from prison are there any other novenas for this purpose

Just pray. I am catholic too but I don't feel that I have to have a saint to pray too. Ask the brothers and sisters in Christ here to pray to. The MOST powerful advocate that we have is Jesus himself. Pray directly to Jesus and ask Him to help and then ask Christians around you to pray too. You will be surprised at the response here if you ask for prayers. People you never heard of in YA will answer you.
