Puppies in General cannot succeed at potty training until after 4 months, they just can't hold themselves and associate "I have to go OUTSIDE!", they just GO! You can start by doing the usual training methods, schedule feedings, let them out 20 minutes after eating , let them out right after they wake...TOY BREEDS take much longer, almost a year! Spaying and neutering help and consistent positive training! I use pee pads until they get it down...put them by the back door so they know they are going in the right direction, towards outside! The best and simplest book is " House Training for Dummies" it really helps! Great tips on crate training and EVERYTHING
I am a breeder of Miniature Pinschers, so I know how to train the TOYS! I have also owned a Yorkie for 13 years! Good LUCK!

The best way to train a puppy is using the crate method. When using this method you have to make the crate the puppy’s home and safe area. If you put a bed in the crate with a blanket she will learn to love it. If you are not using a crate now, she will probably cry when placed in there at first. Make sure you feed her in the crate and put plenty of toys in there and within a week she will love it. Take her out of the crate every 2-3 hours and take her immediately outside UNTIL she uses the bathroom. It may take time for her to figure it out but a dog will naturally not use the bathroom where they sleep so this is absolutely the best method. When you take her outside do NOT play with her. Wait till she goes then take her back inside. After about 5 minutes you can take her back outside to play but DON'T play with her immediately before or after going. She must know she is to go to the bathroom. Also when you take her out to go, use a command over and over until she goes like, "POTTY". She will quickly learn that when you say "potty" she is to go. Then she goes back into the crate until you take her out again. After about a week or so, she should be getting the idea of going outside.

Smaller dogs are harder to train. I have watched many videos on this. The world is so big to them they think it so far away to go outside. You should be kennel training him/her. When it is time for him to go, pick him up and take him to the same spot everytime and don't let him play. At first he has to know that outside is not for play but to go potty.Bring a small treat with you when he goes and make a big deal out of it. Good luck!

We house broke our mini-schnauzer when he was about 4 months old. When he seemed like he was about to pee, we rushed him on to one of those doggy pads or newspaper and he'd pee right on it. Don't hit or yell too loudly at your dog over an accident, he/she might get scared and would start avoiding any liquid. Remember to have plenty of newspaper, on the same spot everyday (preferably the laundry room) and repeat rushing your yorkie on to it before it happens. Hope this helps!

I have a rat terrier/fox terrier mix that is almost 6 months old and the best way to potty train is to have them sleep in a crate or cage and take them outside about every hour til they get used to it. smaller dogs go out more cuz their bladder isn't as big. tell it no if it potties on the floor and make sure to put it outside if it pottys on the floor. don't rub their nose in it cuz it isn't good for them.

TAKE IT OUTSIDE TO GO EVERY HALF HOUR THEN WORK UP TO AN HOUR. KEEP ADDING TIME. DOG SHOULD BE ABLE TO HOLD IT FOR 3 HOURS IF IT'S 3 MONTHS OLD. IF IT'S KENNELED, THEY DON'T LIKE TO GO IN THERE HOME.

You shove his/ or her face in his accident, make it taste it, and then you beat it with a newspaper, if it doesn't catch on, but I'm sure it will, leave him outside until he gets the picture.
