In many states it is a requirement if you work with food - including putting all your hair in it.

It's a confusing rule. When I had a cafeteria job in San Bruno, CA, a hairnet was only for people with long hair. The short hair people, such as me, had to wear hats. And both the hat and the hair net, had to have the hair inside it, and had to be worn for the same reason- kitchen saftey. If you don't wear either, you hair might catch on fire. But at Costco, everyone in the kitchen has to wear a hair net. Some of the kitchen associates wear both items. I don't agree with that. It should be for every place, including Costco, the way it was in San Bruno.

I work at a Quizno's and we don't not have to wear a hairnet but we do have to try our hair back and wear a baseball cap (with the Quizno's logo of course..)

ive never worn a hear net always a hat or a bandana with my hair tied up

i used to work at a private catering company and even though we were not cooking food, we still had to wear one. and yeah, we had to pull all of our hair in it.
