I was on Yahoo Answers tonight and there was alot more questions on here bashing God and Jesus Christ and religion and all that good stuff and I just wondering why? Alot of people do all this bashing and all this talking bad about God and I just can't understand it. Jesus Christ was sent down to this earth to die on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of the world so we might be with him in Heaven once this world is over and not have to suffer through an eternity in Hell. Why in the world would you want to bash and cuss him and his father which is Jehovah God and not accept what he done for you so you can go to Heaven which is the greatest gift we can recieve?

they are scared and so they say things like that to try and convince themselves that they're not going to hell

Would you believe me if I told you there were greater gifts then the one you describe here? I'm certain your answer would be "no," but what if?

Would you be open? Or at the very least, open minded?

Those who bash usually do so for a reason. Usually it's because the Christian refuses to see or even consider on the most minuscule level a different point of view. Everything is black and white to them. No other colors and no shades of gray.

Heaven and hell are your realities. You've accepted them and made them real. Fact is, we all create our own reality. The awake see it. I hope that one day you will too.

It seems that the majority of anti-God hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

That is called free opinion.. Everyone should be receptive to free opinions .. and not be surprised at others reactions at religious beliefs because we are not the same and we dont react by the same way.. Those who bash God are not different from those who believe in God both try to impose their opinion on others...

Well, I don't agree with people 'bashing' the beliefs of others, but a lot of non-Christians view Christian faith as being somewhat absurd and silly, so it's easy to express those views in an inappropriate way. A lot of people, myself included, don't see religion as being "good stuff" as you put it, but rather as the source of an incredible amount of hatred and suffering. As you point out, though, it isn't right to attack people for their beliefs.

Many, (not all), atheists seem to need constant affirmation derived form mocking and bashing something they have not experienced. It seems to make them feel smarter.

There are, however, some atheists here that sincerely have a respect for other beliefs. Dialog with them can be very enlightening.

Some people are intolerant of other belief systems and highly judgmental, and others are intolerant and judgmental of any beliefs at all. You can see this attitude displayed even by some of the so-called christians when other religions are discussed. So it's not just the christian bashers. It's a group of people of all traditions and faiths, who are most likely not following their faith by displaying such rude behavior. Ironic, no?

Because man is increadibly sinful even to the point that we would attack the only thing in life that brings us peace and joy. Disterbing as it may seem we suppress the truth about God that is innately within us, yet we never blame ourselves for this corruption. Somehow it has become God's fault that our lives are messed up not our own.

I have never drawn "first blood" in a debate with Christians. But when they ask questions of "You Atheists Out There" then I feel an obligation to answer.
