God's design is that people would see Him and come to know Him more *through* his church's (Christian believers') example. But we, as believers, are a work in progress and we stumble and fall.

The other problem is that there are many people who misrepresent Christ completely by wearing the cloak of Christianity and then do their own thing, which is not Godly. This gives Christ a bad rap.

If someone is considering Christianity. I believe it is important to consider Christ's teachings and know what the fruit of Christianity is suppose to look like, THEN and ONLY THEN will a person be equipped to discern a true Christ-ian walk in a professed believer of Jesus Christ.

Bottom line: Study the Bible and especially all those 'red letters'. :)

Without a doubt I base it on Christ. If I were to base it on Christians I assure you I would be dissapointed daily. Because Christians are imperfect just like all men I am asking to be frustrated if I expect to always see the image of Christ living in my brother. Just as I do, all Christians struggle daily with there sinfulness. So do not put your faith in your fellow Christian, but support one another. Put your faith in Christ. He will never disappoint.

I base my understanding of Christianity on Jesus. People are not perfect. I am tested everyday, but I try to follow Jesus' example from the Bible.

Great question!

If only we would stop judging Christ by the words and actions of those who are so imperfect - even though they are being perfected!!

Jesus said, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. " (Rev 3:20)

Do I follow the teaching of Jesus or the teaching of Paul, aren't they the same? If Jesus says to pray in secret and the father will reward me openly and Paul says, "Pray in order." Do I follow one over the other or are both correct?

Christians, because I did not know Jesus personally, nor did anyone of them, probably why so many act a bit foolish.

Jesus because he's the only one who can judge me, save me, and cast out the demons from my soul.
