If you want to raise money for the troops, anything will do, people will donate. Sell cupcakes with American flags stuck in them for a buck outside the grocery store where you bought them for a quarter. Find a soldier that just came back from Iraq, get him to give you his boots, and raffle them off for a buck a ticket. Just make a big sign that says "FOR THE TROOPS" and you can't lose.

Hi,
been there done that. Quickest way to raise money is a garage sale. Have everyone involved approach 10 neighbors on the street they live on and ask for donations for the sale. We raised $1000 on SAT like that. People donated stereos, bikes, clothing just to name a few. Beats selling cupcakes at .25 a pop.
Good luck and don't forget our troops in Afghanistan too!

Talk to the troops about studying meditation. It should soothe their nerves, and during this time, they may come to the realization that they should hold their fire when they are supposed to shoot, and when they capture prisoners they should treat them with respect.
If they do these things, then they will suffer from much less post-traumatic stress upon returning.
Chocolate chip cookies also last a long time. The sugar is a good preservative.

It's not as hard as you think.
When I was in Viet Nam, I remember getting packages from strangers.
Cookies, Koolaid etc.
More came from the state of Arizona than anywhere.
One woman said she had been writing since WW2 and didn't think anyone would write her, well, I did.

My package simply said "TO A MARINE"

How about try bringing them home?
This war on Iraq is an embarrassment and if we don't get these soldiers out more innocent lives will be taken and forever changed...
...get them out of Iraq and put Bush there
....then we'll see what will happen

Advertise. I'm a soldier. and it would make me proud to see people wearing shirts saying, "Prey for my husband" or Prey for my mother" stickers with the OIF OED emblem on them.

yes bring them home and cook them dinner i think he made a big mistake in the middle east.i think he should have bomb the h-ll out of them and let the people overthrow the gov. we should of then sit back an see what happened. that would have set them back 20 years.if the new gov is bad do it again in ten years or when its needed.they will get it right sooner or later.or we bomb them again in another ten years to keep them down until they get it right.we should not be trying to put someone in power over there.and there should not be any ground troops there...unless we are giong to keep the ground we r fighting on......and why give them money and help them rebuild...if they no were going to keep bombing them there not going to want a leader that going to prevoke the world..... bring them home now bomb them later if we have to but no ground troops

Here what you do:
1.Put together care packages. Treats and movies would be appreciated. Magazines are also good. Oreos are a favorite.
2.Go to nearest base or recruiting station or USO and they will be more than happy to help you get them sent out to the troops.......
