That is unhealthy. You will starve your cells and will gain the weight back and might even worst.

The healthy way is 1-2 pounds of fat/week. The first 5 pounds will probably more on water. Be patient. To burn 1 pound of body fat you need a caloric deficit of 2,500 cal/week. I think a pound of fat loss is 1/4 inch somewhere in your body. First one you gain is the last one you're going to lose. So don't believe in spot reduction.

I've been through yo-yos and now learning a lot.

Exercise and eat a balance diet. 4-5 small meals every 3 hours. Do work out 6 days/wk for an hour. Alternate weight training with cardio. If you've been doing cardio like jogging/running you can incorporate with sprinting (HIIT).

Checkout bodyforlife.com I incorporate my workout with theirs (ok, I didn't join the challenge just follow the weight training --> they have samples of animated training that you can try it tells you what muscle for that particular exercise ). I use the alternating frequency of upperbody and lowerbody workout (hard to hit a plateau on this and they do drop sets too -- 45 mins.) but my cardio is 50-60 mins. interval training combination of sprinting 5 cycles (varies) and interval jogging. I just don't follow their diet/recipe. I don't go to the gym I just weight train at home and cardio, sprint and jog around the neighborhood.

Do drink protein shake (Protein powder I use is optimum nutrition -- taste good and has 24 g protein/scoop) 1 gram per pound of body weight, average carb and low fat. You need to feed your muscles. lean protein like grilled chicken, eggwhites/eggbeater, etc. You can also try soy. It's a complete protein (meaning it has those 8 essential amono acids -- the only veggy with complete protein I think) Don't eat too much fat free they're high in sugar. Need complex carbs. High intensity training like weight lifting and sprinting uses glycogen. Don't forget multivitamins.

If you don't have any medical conditions can checkout thermogenics/fat burner like Instone's leanfire or Isator's lean system 7. Consult your physician if you take any medication.

Be patient you didn't gain 30 lbs in 30 days. It takes 3 months to see good results. Don't always believe those ads (some of them are not really that fat and also they're on a very strict diet because they will be appearing on those ads or body competition and some are actually bogus ads). I try to lose 1 lb body fat per 1 1/2 to 2 weeks (I'm overweight for my height and put more on my stomach. I try to avoid those loose skin. You may want to use a fat caliper because muscle weighs more than fat. It's hard work -- No pain no gain. You will need a lot of patience. One day at a time.

when lazy to workout just turn on those favorite music and start pumping iron next thing you know you're almost done with your workout.

Goodluck.

Ok. Stop and take a deep breath. Obviously you're trying to lose weight for some upcoming event that is occurring in 2 months. But whatever this event is - it is not worth dieting yourself into illness. Yes, at your height and weight it is not unreasonable to want to lose some weight. It IS unreasonable to expect to drop it in 2 months. What most reputable diets recommend is 2-3 lbs a week, which would come out to an average of 12-18 lbs a month. The best thing to do is sit down, write out a diet regimen and set a REASONABLE goal - say like 4 - 6 months. DO NOT starve yourself - all you'll do is end up fainting from hunger and likely end up at the doctors office. If you're really serious about losing weight, be smart about it. Studies show that "crash dieting" rarely lasts, and most people that crash diet end up gaining the weight back. You do have some things going in your favor. At 15 your metabolism is at it's peak, which means you'll have an easier time losing the weight than say a 30 year old. Also since you participate in sports you are getting exercise, which is good. (and please realize that muscle weighs more than fat, so take that into account when you set your goal weight.) Good luck - and be safe and smart.

Don't be a loony! You can't lose 30 pounds in a month! Two pounds a week is the maximum, although in the first week you might lose more because a lot of that will be fluid. You took months, maybe years, to put on that 30 pounds and you had better face the fact that it will take time to burn it off. Be patient and look forward to the day when it really will all be gone!

Don't go on any fad diets. I wouldn't recommend a single one. I don't actually think it's about the way you go about it at all.

What you need to be doing is not cutting out all the "bad" stuff as if it is a punishment. You need to make sure that what you are putting in is burned out efficiently.

For an simple (and probably not very accurate) example, lets pretend that a piece of steak has 500kj of energy, and it takes 2 hours to completely work off 1000kj of energy. You have to exercise for the full hour to completely burn it off. Maybe more than that if you are only doing light exercise.

You don't have to cut out your chocolate cake and your sweets. Just have them in small amonts, and make sure that you do what you can to burn it off, which may take longer to do than some foods, and less than others.

If you desperately need a diet though, I would buy 6 Second Abs. It's a good device for the abdominal region, and works on the obliques, lower abs, and upper abs, and has plenty of different level combinations for people of varying fitness levels. It comes with a diet plan which sounds rather nice, and used in conjunction with regular exercise, you can drop 1 or 2 dress sizes in a week, I believe.

It also comes with a DVD/Video (which I still haven't looked at) and also some brochures and such with weight and measurement conversion charts for your cooking and such.

Try it out. It's really good, and it works, and it's probably the only known diet plan that I would consider giving out to anyone else.

You can lose 2 pounds a week if you can adhere to a 1000 calorie a day, if you are not pregnant or of a young age. That meas in three months you can do it. Start a 5 minute workout at home by yourself and increase it every week and build up your self to 30 or 40 minutes and walk or something else you like to burn calories. Get yourself a simply little book that has foods and their calorie count. Stick to fresh veggies and fruit, nuts and seeds. Healthy stuff, fresh not canned, processed or frozen foos if you can help it.

Do a weight check every week, mark it down on an index card and do every week same day in the morning. @lbs a week should go away.

you're basically saying you want to lose a pound a day? so..7lbs a week?

this isn't answering your question but you should be very careful with this goal. It's unhealthy to lose more than even 3 pounds a week..you should keep it between 1-2 per week.

when you calculate it out..you need a certain amount of calories to keep things running smoothly (like breathing and..living). If you really want to lose 30 lb in a month..you're gonna be going way below that

not healthy....

god frank s...i took the time writing mine longer and you beat me to it :D

Buy the book, but make sure you read it - don't just try to take the easy way out and just follow the Sample Diet.
I swear by this diet/lifestyle. If you do it correctly, you will no doubt lose the weight!!!! Good Luck, & I really hope you try it!!

that's IMPOSSIBLE.
You can't lose 30 lbs in 30 days in a healthy way. You would have to stop eating for 30 days and you would die if you do
