I have suffered with arthritis for 22 years (I'm 31 now). I have used celebrex, vioxx, vicodin, tylenol arthritis, tramadol, etc. There is no magic pill out there, believe me, I know. The weather changes can affect it dramatically, especially in humid or extreme cold weather. The best way to deal with arthritis is exercise, heat and cold therapy, and maybe some external anelgesics like Ben-Gay or Icy Hot. Most chiropractors around here sell a product called Bio-Freeze and it worked for me for a while. You might be able to find it over the internet. Also in some cases, surgery helps. I had atheroscopic surgery on my knee and was practically pain free for 3 years. Its just a temporary fix though. Additionally there is an injection called Synvisc that may help. I for one have not had the injections but have talked to some that have and they swear by it. This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope your mum feels better. She is not alone.

Take three days for a juice fasting. Your blood is too acidic and that is why you are getting so much pain in your joints. Juice fasting makes your blood more alkaline (which is the opposite of acidic) and therefore less pain. Do 3-5 days of juice fasting. Take a whole bag of apples juice it up in a juice extractor and add, barley, alfalfa, and spirulina powder to it. Drink 8-10 ounces of juice every 2-3 hrs. and at 6 PM eat a vegetable soup. This always helps the body get rid of toxins, and that means less pain. Also, a warm bath helps loosen up and relax. Hope this helps, take care, and good health to you! :)

Most medications will not help arthritis that is why I had an ankle fusion. It was so bad I could not put weight on my foot. I no longer have arthritis there because I have no ankle joint any longer. Depending where your moms arthritis is, she may want to consider a fusion.

Maybe the medication needs changing. Also the damp and changing weather is very hard on arthritis sufferers. I myself use Emu cream on my arthritic knees and it does help with pain so do north polarity magnets I tape on my knees.

it's possible that something else is wrong. probably would be a good idea to see the doctor for a check up. and maybe change her arthritis meds

Tell her to watch her diet, eating certain things can make it worse. Also, try the natural suppliment Phenocane, I saw it in a health food store and the advisor said it is great for pain.

Have they checked your Mum for Fibromyalgia? It can cause severe pain. They have to do the tender point test though to really diagnose it. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue and let me tell you the pain can get worse the older you get and sometimes drugs just stop working after your body gets immune to them. have them check her for that. Unfortunately there isn't much they can do about FM, but to give you more drugs. I hope she finds something that works for her.

Tell her to ask the doctor about Skelaxin 800 mg.
Get her to sleep in a sleeping bag at night, that may relieve it also.
Arthiritis is really terrible and it comes with the weather usually.

Your mom needs a good massage and some heat therapy. Then she should talk to her doctor about pain management.
