There are several styles to shooting dice-rattling them around in the hands and sometimes blowing on them - considered amateurish; "setting" them (illegal but if quick you can't be caught - the idea is to set them so that when they bounce a certain probability of a desired result will occur more often than the statistical norm) - this is also called rhythmic rolling, and the shooter does not actually want the dice to tumble around a lot, but just "drop" and maybe bounce once.

Fading the dice is when one or more people take the bets against the dice - this is done in an informal setting, such as a floating craps game or on military bases.

To learn the rules either go to a casino or read books by experts such as Peter Andrews. You win when what you are betting for/against occurs or in a complex series of bets if the ultimate result favors your choice of how you think things will turn out.

Sorry this is a brief answer. To get into it more you will have to learn the game thoroughly and then make a choice on the kind of strategies you find in tune with your own risk profile.

I can state that, although unpopular, the "wrong" bettor can make serious money IF he/she watches the losses like a hawk and refrains from continuing to bet when the luck runs against the "wrong" bettor (one who hopes the shooter will NOT make the point). Experts say that if you lose twice against the same shooter you should wait until the next shooter to bet against him/her. Most people, however bet with the shooter and "place" the 6 and 8 and, when they really learn the ropes, to make two or three overlapping bets of different strategies. Some even indulge in progressive wagering, where you increase the bets when you win, although theoretically this only produces greater swings to the bankroll as craps is just blind luck.

One thing you don't want to do too much of is betting on certain numbers with a low probability of occurring; that is because what you should be paid and what the house actually pays is vastly different, so that if your luck runs even all night you will still lose big.

Craps is a fast game and not for the faint-hearted.

You stand on a street corner in the hood, throw some dice on the ground and hope you get a 7 or 11. A fade is a haircut that black men get to make it look as if they have no hair at the bottom and it slowly fades to some hair on the top of their heads. How do you win what? At shoot dice? get 7 or 11...its just like poker. Black people dont really play texas no-limit, throw some paper and cards, we playing Spades or give us some dominoes and we playing that.

P.S. Dont worry about that stuff, its hard enough being black, you shouldn't want to know. Sorry
