I have looked up causes of itching and how when you scratch and scratch away the irritant your brain will signal no more itch, but why in the heck do you get those itches that you just can't stop even when you have scratch yourself to death? Something with nerves?

It won't go away because you keep scratching it. Leave it alone and it will get better within time. In the meantime, you can put on anti-itch cream.

I have exama, which is severe itchyness on a certain part of your body (it's on my arms for me). In this case, it won't ever go away even with cream. Exama is there forever.

Another cause is allergies and dry skin. With seasons changing, your body has to get used to the weather. Maybe you're also allergic to something else (shampoo maybe?)?

It's usually some type of allergic reaction and the substance causing it is still in the tissue... hence a mosquito bite swells and itches deep under the skin where the insects saliva is causing a reaction.

Seriously try tooth paste on area.
Something in toothpaste heals the itch. Put it on, if it still itches add more. It calms down and goes away.
