My fiance and I are shopping for a new mattress, and we are pullign are haor out over it. They are so expensive, and we dont know enough about them to tell if we are getting ripped off. Any input on a good value for a Queen sized mattress, plush or pillow-top? Who has the best prices in CT (or surrounding area)? Not trying to cheap out on it, just trying to get best bang for the buck... Thanx in advance

Just bought Queen mattress set from Mattress Discounters-The first set we returned -because It bowed like a banana yet supposed to be one of their best. We payed 1400.00 for a sealy posture pedic pillow top that SUCKED!!!!!! SO we went around & around with management untill they agreed to let us return it for an exchange-they would NOT give us our money back!!!!! So we exchanged it for a Sterns and Foster Firm pillow top and guess what It also bows in the middle this set was 1900.00. We had the bed now for 30 days- I sleep on the couch again because myhusband does NOT want to go through hell again. If I had to do this over -I would just get a firm reg. queen size mattress that u can flip over-These 18 to20 inch matresses you cant turn- I think the only thing going for them is the little pillow top the bulk up under is more box spring.U would think an 1900.00 mattress would be heaven.- I could have went to BIG LOTS and got a set for 400.00 and be happier than I am now!! good luck .P.s Make sure U know the return policie.

Might check to see if Latex International will sell you a 6" talalay core of around 35 ILD firmness.

I paid 1500 for my high end pillowtop...it was on sale...and they price matched. shop around...with pen and paper...and make sure then go to your favorite salesman and give him the chance to price match your lowest price.

They go on sale constantly..so if its not on sale either wait for a sale or ask for a sale price.
